Each weekend, starting Friday, I will be giving away something for free; to start it might only be textures, but as I get more into (digital) mixed media, it might be digital stencils, digital brushes, or even an image that you can use. I hope that you enjoy creating with the freebies.

Note: The file will expire Sunday evening at 9:30 PM (Pacific Time). The file is temporarily stored on Dropbox. If you don’t have an account, or don’t want to create one, go to the bottom of the dialog box and click on “NO thanks, continue to view”

Weekend Freebie #14

Today’s freebie was from a black and white photo of a metal bench. I played around with it in Affinity Photo to give it this graphic look. Its use is as a mask/clipping path as you can see below in the sample images. The final image size is 6000 x 4000 @ 300 dpi. The download is a .zip file with 2 files, black with white boxes and white with black boxes.
File size is 4.53 MB.

Here are a couple of samples made with each of the masks. Being such a sci-fi/fantasy gal, I had to use a space photo.

I would love to see what you create with this texture. Feel free to leave a link to where you’ve posted a picture.

You may sell any artwork you create with this texture, as long as it is not the dominant part of your artwork.

You MAY NOT sell the texture as your own or include it as part of a group/package of downloads.

    1. Thank you, Mary. Before I took the picture I thought the same thing. I don’t know how many other people see what I see, but you seem pretty tuned in to the same things I see.
