Finally getting around to showing 1 of the 8 fortnight lilies still in bloom, but it looks like they’ll be closing up tomorrow or Tuesday. Not sure why they’re called fortnight as they sure don’t last 14 days!!
I called this one “Sky High” as I had to get down on my knees to be able to shoot up from the underside of the flower. Being that the sky was a light gray with not much going on, I decided to give the photo a few textures and a more artistic look.

I love the muted color pallette in sky high, evokes both handpainted photographs and the careful watercolors of Victorian botanists
