Another Asiatic lily opened up last night, 3 of the blossoms have already died with the petals fallen on the ground. This photo is of the latest bloom along with some lighting effects I created using an old computer DVD disc. I managed to separate the disc into 2 pieces, then held it up to the sky, letting the sun create light rays. In post I duplicated the rays 2 times and used screen mode to create the look.
I guess you all want to know what yesterdays Stretch Your Mind photo was. Drumroll please…it was the metal partition in a bathroom at Toppers Pizza. I placed my phone perpendicular to the metal and let the shallow depth of field (plus the overhead lighting) turn the raised metal design into light balls. Always keep your eyes open and don’t be afraid to experiment!
