Had some time to kill while waiting for my moms car to have an oil change, so I decided to walk around the perimeter of The Oaks Mall and take photos of things that caught my eye. But…silly me forgot to charge up the camera battery yesterday after taking over 200 photos, so I didn’t get to take as many shots as I would have liked. Just finished buying a spare OEM battery on amazon.com since this wasn’t the first time I’ve run out without checking the battery level.

Saw this agapanthus on my way back to the garage; there were quite a few of the plants in various stages of “birth”.

  1. My Sony cameras charge via USB so after downloading the files I let it charge completely. I bought two highly rated generic spare batteries and have never used them.

    1. The Fuji (I think) will charge via USB also, or it’s for shooting while plugged in. I need to look in the manual and see for sure. The problem comes in when I’m out hiking, taking loads of photos, and run out of battery…and am not ready to leave yet, and don’t have access to a charger. Regarding highly rated generic batteries, I have them for my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and Panasonic FZ300, they swell up and are now a tight fit/hard squeeze to get them out. That’s the only reason I ordered a spare Fuji battery…experience. Also, this camera cost as much as both of the 2 mentioned together!

  2. Maybe like me you take too many shots of the same thing in hopes of getting one perfect. I took about 200 images of dead Peonies last week and deleted them all. Once I shot a full memory card (16mb I think) of a canoe and kept one! But a spare battery is a good thing to have in case aliens land in great light or Bigfoot comes up and hands you beef jerky. 😉

    1. There are only 2 times when I take what I would consider too many shots of the same thing…when the wind is blowing my subject all around, or I’m doing a “study” of a flower/plant and taking photos from different angles; if the wind is a factor, them I’m doubly screwed. 🙂
