This weeks Photo Challenge, Liquid, has us “keeping things fluid.” This is one of my favorite topics to shoot, as I unleash my creativity more times than not. Below are 11 photos that range from the abstract to forms that look familiar. I hope you enjoy my entry for this weeks challenge! To see more… Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Unlikely
This weeks Photo Challenge wants us to show “a photo of something unlikely.” We have a Monstrose Cactus that has had as many as 10 buds on it at one time, but that was a few years ago; nowadays there aren’t nearly as many buds and it can be months on end before any show up. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Lines
This weeks Photo Challenge, Lines, wants us to “look through our lens and pay attention to lines.” For me that’s super easy as I find myself attracted to them, whether in nature or architecturally. Here is my submission for this weeks challenge. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Awakening
This weeks Photo Challenge, Awakening, wants us to show renewal. Here in Southern California, Spring is in full swing. Since I love flowers, those are the kinds of photos I’ll be using for this weeks challenge. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Smile
This weeks Photo Challenge, Smile, has us “point your camera at something or someone that puts a smile on our face (or just show a smiling face).” I’m almost a week late getting this together as I was trying to find all of my smile/smiling faces. Somehow I couldn’t find my smiling squirrel or smiling goat on my hard drive, but I did find 7 photos to share for the challenge. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Palau Sunrise Sunset
This weeks Photo Challenge, Rise/Set, has us “explore the vibrant, hopeful colors of your favorite sunrise or sunset.” I plan on showing you my most memorable sunrise AND sunset. In 2009, I was lucky enough to get to go to the island of Palau and stay with 2 friends who had been living there for the previous 7-8 months. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Favorite Place
This weeks Photo Challenge, Favorite Place, asks us to “share an image of your happy place, a secret spot you love, or a faraway location you return to again and again.” For me that is an easy answer. Chiang Mai, Thailand stole my heart in 2009 and 2010; the actual place that I feel is my home away from home is Horizon Village and Resort. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – I’d Rather Be
This weeks Photo Challenge, I’d Rather Be…asks us “If given the choice, what would you rather be doing, right now?” With what I’ve been dealing with lately…I’d rather be creating and making a big mess! I found this beautiful mess when walking my little dog around Moorpark College this morning. Read More
Weekly Photo Challenge – Story
This weeks Photo Challenge, Story, wants us to “be a visual storyteller.” If you saw my Weekly Photo Challenge for Cheeky, then you’ve seen the egret in the following slideshow. The photos were taken as I was stalking lizards with the egret. He/she didn’t seem to mind me tagging along as long as I was quiet and kept my distance. I took a lot of photos of this great hunter, but the last photo was a one in a million shot! No photoshopping of the lizard, or egret…I didn’t even know that I had gotten that shot until later in the day when I sat down and scrolled through the photos. I just wish I had a lens that was over 300mm that day. Read More
