My new batch of fortnight lilies have had something eating the petals before they even open. Last night I saw a pincher bug with only its head on the tip of one of the lilies (the rest of the body was dangling off the side). I was torn between running back in the house for my camera and tripod and a flashlight for lighting, and blowing the little sucker off my “baby”…protecting my flower won out. I took in a deep breath and blew the little sucker off the petal! This morning there was a fly hanging out on a different flower, it stayed in one place and let me take its photo…3 times! Each time I changed angles as I moved from its side to facing it head on. This was the third photo.
