While in the produce department of one of the local markets, I came across some fruit that I haven’t had since I was in Thailand, dragon fruit. This one didn’t come from Thailand, but it did come from Vietnam. I saw that it was a red fruit version – I think the red tastes better than the white fruit version, but it might just be in my mind. I thought that dragon fruit originated in Southeast Asia, but I just found out that it is indigenous to Central America…who knew? All I know is that I love the look of the exterior of the fruit and that it tasted much better in Thailand (compared to something that’s been picked unripe and exported to the U.S.).
