Up and Out

Day 46 of 365

Nature is pretty amazing, especially when you look at it through a macro lens. I was looking at the moss starting to grow on our mimosa tree when I noticed whatever this is that split the outer layer of bark away from the limb.

I tried an online search to see what it is, but I couldn’t find any photos that looked like these “poppers”. I did find out that mimosa trees get all kinds of diseases…ours was a volunteer (we didn’t plant it). Now I’m thinking of having it cut down, but since the birds love sitting on the branches and singing, I don’t know if I could do that to them.
