Well, this year isn’t starting out exactly as planned! Since my last post:
(1) The microwave went out in the middle of heating Eggplant Parmesan (had to get a new one)
(2) We were without electricity for around 40 hours during a fierce windstorm (did a minor digital detox during, then had to empty/throw away all the food in the fridge and clean it out after power was restored)
(3) The washing machine died last week and I’ve been having to do research and, finally, purchased a washer and dryer (our last pair were bought on the same day, so the dryer could be on its way out too – they were 15-20 years old)

On the positive side:
(1) I managed to create 2 digital mixed media tags
(2) Created more “digital stencils”
(3) Finally finished the digital planner I was working on (after several retakes) – I’ve cut it down to monthly planners as the file was huge!
(4) I’m alive!!!
(5) The Iceland Poppies are still blooming (despite getting the 5h*t kicked out of them during the wind storm)

Tag 2 - Fly Higher

4 of the new digital stencils I created, minus the new ones I made after taking this screenshot.

Wish Dad a Happy Birthday for me. BTW did you know you can make your own brushes from images in Photoshop?

Aww, thanks Mike, I will (his birthday isn’t until the 22nd which is why I’m proud of myself for finishing his card so early). I know you can make your own brushes from photos in Affinity programs, but I think I remember it can be done in Photoshop. DesignCuts recently had Khara Plicanik (sp) do a live stream on creating brushes in Photoshop. I didn’t watch it, and I see they haven’t edited it yet for posting on YouTube.

My mother recently turned 90 and I took her to get her first shot today. We gotta take care of the old folks, I think that’s in the bible.

My dad will be turning 92 and is in excellent condition. He doesn’t take any medications, but takes lots of supplements and has been walking 2-3 times a day since he lost his job last year due to Covid-19. This guy does not like sitting still and if it weren’t for the pandemic would still be dancing, working out at the gym and working in the kitchen at his former job. His only downfall is his hearing. Glad that you’re taking care of your mom when needed.
