Each weekend, starting Friday, I will be giving away something for free; to start it might only be textures, but as I get more into (digital) mixed media, it might be digital stencils, digital brushes, or even an image that you can use. I hope that you enjoy creating with the freebies.

Note: The file will expire Sunday evening at 9:30 PM (Pacific Time). The file is temporarily stored on Dropbox. If you don’t have an account, or don’t want to create one, go to the bottom of the dialog box and click on “NO thanks, continue to view”

Weekend Freebie Featured Image 05-18-18
Weekend Freebie #20

Today’s freebie is a photo of canvas that I converted to black and white. The final image size is 6000 x 4000 @ 300 dpi. File size is 18.43 MB.

Here’s a couple of samples using this weeks image.

Weekend Freebie Sample 1 05-18-18
Used Multiply blend mode at 45% opacity
Weekend Freebie Sample 2 05-18-18
Used as a stencil

I would love to see what you create with this texture. Feel free to leave a link to where you’ve posted a picture.

You may sell any artwork you create with this texture, as long as it is not the dominant part of your artwork.

You MAY NOT sell the texture as your own or include it as part of a group/package of downloads.

I love the rough feel of this. And it’s really cool how you show it in your images: in the squirrel giving the feeling of a canvas texture; and the other where the texture is part of the abstract design. both of them are very coolReply

Mary, Did you get a chance to download it? If you didn’t, and you would like it, send me an email. Also, thank you for your comment(s). I had fun using it to create the abstract image.Reply

Yes, I downloaded it in time. Your welcome on the comments — it’s always cool to see what you do with the freebies tooReply

Sometimes I don’t have time to create with the freebies before I offer them, but I do try to use them and show examples of how they can be used – usually by Saturday afternoon at the latest. Glad you picked it up in time. 🙂Reply
